Breitbart strikes again. Conservative media activist and propagandist Andrew Breitbart made news again this week, bringing to light apparent
video evidence of racism among the NAACP's ranks, in the form of USDA official Shirley Sherrod, who was allegedly caught on tape in a speech to the NAACP, admitting that race had influenced her decisions not to provide assistance to white farm workers. But despite the fact that Sherrod was summarily dismissed from her USDA post as a result of Breitbart's accusations,
the complete, unedited footage of the speech reportedly confirms Sherrod's claims that "her comments were taken out of context... that the anecdote was part of a larger story, one in which she explains how she overcame her initial prejudice" and that in fact, the reported incidents took place before Sherrod worked for the USDA, when she worked for the Federation of Southern Cooperative/Land Assistance Fund. The white farmers described in the story have since confirmed to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution that,
in fact, Sherrod saved them from bankruptcy. [

Read a Book (hilarious) and
Serve Below Zero may be intended to send a “good” message to the black community, but it’s hard to ignore blatant racist undertones (or overtones) in the lyrics and images.

Late Night Shots is an "invitation-only" social networking site for elite GOP youth of Washington, DC that the late
Steve Gilliard mockingly described as
"the best and whitest." The Wonkette blog has devoted an
entire section to the site that documents Late Night Shots'
racism,
date rape,
anti-Islamic prejudice, and
incest with second cousins, at least until
Wonkette's editor started getting invited to their parties. The founder of Late Night Shots,
Reed Landry, plans to take his networking site to other cities, but even though Wonkette has lost interest, the Washington City Paper has attracted scrutiny to the site again with a juicy new
exposé.

The jounalist's name was Mamta Popat. She sure
sounds like a terrorist.

Ranch Rescue is a organization dedicated to the notion of preserving
"Private property first, foremost, and always." Darlings of the
far right-wing press, they are not anti-tax or anti-regulation of business, they are a group that exploits laws allowing landowners to apprehend or shoot trespassers by organizing
armed expeditions of "concerned citizens" to hunt down undocumented border crossers. Begun in Arizona and Texas, they have recently expanded to all Mexican/American border states. Check out the different
state pages to learn of their upcoming
"operations". This site requires a lot of perusal to ascertain the reality of what these people are doing, but they do give you some insight as to
what the hell they are thinking.

Welcome back, state's rights. As if Dubya's comments following his "ethnic" Cabinet appointments wasn't enough retrograde logic -- roughly: if blacks and hispanics (would only?) work hard and make the right choices in life -- he's now using language that has been used to mask agendas based on race from
before the Civil War through the
fight against integration. And it looks like that fight
ain't over, if you read "states rights" in today's context to mean the right to spend public funds on getting (primarily) white kids out of (primarily) black schools.
