Were the clues found by law enforcement officers planted to mislead the search for the perpetrators of 9.11? I've been wondering, and

There's an article in the current issue of Red Herring magazine (p. 58) titled
Digital Canals about delivering data through water pipes. Sorry no link to this specific story, it's not up on the site yet. Can anybody shed some light on this technology? More in comments...
