While some may think him a sellout, others see folk hero. The good people of St. Paul, Minnesota? They're gonna knight him tonight. Whiplash the Cowboy Monkey has been entertaining the rodeo set to the tune of 150 dates a year over 15 years. He's an "old-time cowboy... (whose) riding skill is unchallenged," presumably by other monkeys riding sheep dogs and Border collies. Tonight, at The World's Toughest Rodeo during The St. Paul Winter Carnival, Whiplash gets honored the way a dog-riding monkey should.

Tucson Rodeo Craziness

Only in Tucson can the Mayor and his wife get rear-ended by a stagecoach. It all happened during the annual Rodeo parade in downtown Tucson. There is a fantastic made for TV video of it attached this story.

Dog-riding monkeys in professional rodeo. Only in America can a guy like this or this character make a living by having monkeys ride dogs in rodeos (Realvideo). Now they've gotten news coverage in the past, but what I would give for them to come to my part of the world. And more photos please! Wow. Sometimes I love this country.

Ouch!

Ouch! Kurt falls to the dirt, surely hurt, while a clown on the alert wearing a skirt made of shirts, attempts to distract, to divert, a raging bull, ...one of many documented attractions at the Valley Center Western Days Rodeo.

My particular favorites are the "man vs steer", the stalemate, and nothing describes kids on sheep better than "mutton busting".
