My Favorite Wasteland. "Need more reasons to stay home? You could probably find them sitting in the row behind you. Many members of the contemporary movie audience, only marginally socialized, would have made a misanthrope of Gandhi... Grownups who do choose to remain at home with the remote--and I often count myself among them, not a TV enthusiast exactly, but certainly a sympathist--have no reason to apologize. TV can now teach Hollywood something about smarts." [

Best. Episodes. Ever. Though I think they're wrong about the worst. In honor of the upcoming 300th episode of
the Simpsons, Entertainment Weekly looks back at the 25 best episodes and 1 worst. May the arguments, and uneeded meme generation, begin.

The Simpsons are indubitably America's first family, and since I'm spending my unemployed Friday afternoon looking for fun instead of looking for work, I thought I'd share. Find a favorite! "See my vest...." to "Ay, Caramba!" Have they lost their zing? Is it time to end (troll)
the best TV show of all time (/troll)?

The Simpsons Get Respectable in this play where all the characters from the show act out Hamlet? It's a one-man show in New Jersey, but I'd pay to see this. It proves Hamlet's weird universality, but seeing Apu as "the first murderer" has got to be a rush.

65 minor characters battle it out, single-elimination tournament style. Sure, we all saw Troy McClure's rout of Uter coming a mile away, but did you really think Hans Moleman had what it took to knock off Rev. Lovejoy? Your votes help determine which supporting player is the supporting-est on
The Road to Springfield.

Did anyone watch the Simpsons Sunday night? Did you notice how bad it sucked?
Maybe it was on purpose, as a response to
the feud going on between the show's writers and the alt.tv.simpsons newsgroup.
