I'm so sorry, Metafilter, really I am. I don't know what's come over me, but I am posting one of the dopiest, most embarrassing celebrity novelty tunes ever recorded. It's by the fellow who played Batman in the 60s TV series, Adam West, in a breathtakingly stupid recording of an utterly ridiculous song called
Miranda. I pray that you'll forgive me for my indiscretion, and I promise I will post some inspiring and worthwhile music next time around.

In the early 1990s, Adam West starred in two short-lived television series:
Lookwell and
The Clinic.
Lookwell, created by Conan O'Brien and Robert Smigel, centered around West's character, Ty Lockwell, a washed up actor whose previous gig as a TV detective led him to believe that he was capable of solving crimes. Owner of an honorary detective badge, Lookwell ropes his acting students into playing various characters as he tracks down leads. Only the pilot episode ever aired. The other show,
The Clinic, was a short-lived soap opera spoof that aired briefly (five episodes) on Comedy Central. It featured West as the overly dramatic Dr. Horton Van Hoon, an alcoholic in charge of a failing health clinic.
The Clinic also featured radio cult personality
Joe Frank in one of his very few acting roles.

POW! I found this while looking for something to illustrate the wrong way to pronounce Derek's name. I can't decide if Adam West is lampooning himself (in current Shatner style), or if he is still hanging onto his Glory Days with Julie Newmar... but I'm not sure it matters.
