[note the lack of use of the word "'eh"]

On July 1st, 1867, an act creating a federal dominion and establishing the Government of Canada came into effect. While citizens of the world's second largest nation may celebrate by reminiscing over tear-inducing beer commercials, bemoaning the craziness of its mayors, or feeling bad about the tar sands, I posit to you that there is no more Canadian thing on the internet than this video of Chris Hadfield singing a song with the Barenaked Ladies.

The Junos

The Junos were last night in Newfoundland. Nickelback got Best Single, Best Rock Album and Best Group. Daniel Lanois was inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame.
I'm stuck in Ohio, did anyone see it? I would image The Barenaked Ladies made great hosts, am I right?

Barenaked Ladies use ingenuity instead of lawyers to outfox Napster users.

Barenaked Ladies use ingenuity instead of lawyers to outfox Napster users. Singer Steven Page can be heard in one download telling users: "Although you thought you were downloading our new single, what you actually were downloading is an advertisement for our new album." In retrospect, it's so clever, it's obvious. We're all smacking our heads thinking, "Why didn't I think of that?" Appropriating the Napster system to recoup valuable advertising targeted to those who actually like the band is so elegant in its simplicity, and everyone but the would-be copier is satisfied. (Until they BUY the album)
