Freeman <a href="http://www.newmusicbox.org/article.nmbx?id=799">supported the works</a> of such composers as Philip Glass, John Cage and Witold Lutoslawski (and <a href="http://www.newmusicbox.org/page.nmbx?id=16fp15">many, many more</a>), often early in their careers. She was a <a href="http://www.newmusicbox.org/page.nmbx?id=16fp16">photographer herself</a>, and the subject of David Hockney's <a href="http://www.cegur.com/Hockney/BeverlyHillsHousewife.html">Beverly Hills Housewife</a>.
