In 1996 a man known only as "Bugs" rocked the cryptozoology world with the claim that during the 1970s he was part of a hunting party in the Texas panhandle that shot, killed & buried two adult Bigfoots. Bugs turned over a copy of his map to radio talk show host Art Bell & was never heard from again, despite pleas to step forward from prominent members of the Bigfoot community.
All that changed a few days ago when somebody recognized Bugs's voice while listening to political muckraker Ed Hale's Internet radio show. Ed's current cause is uncovering documentary evidence that President-Elect Barack Obama is not a "natural born citizen" and therefore is ineligible for office. Currently Ed claims to be in possession of Obama's parents' divorce decree.
Although Ed has not made an official comment on the matter, a commenter claiming to be Ed has posted a short defense that admits he was the infamous "Bugs". (via)

A group of three men claim they have found the body of a bigfoot somewhere in the state of Georgia. A press conference is set for this Friday in Palo Alto, CA. Enthusiasts are skeptical but not completely dismissive. Get your Friday flash fun with video overlaid overtop of an advancing slideshow and two separate sources of annoying music at their website which has the press conference announcement. [more inside]

Yeti footprints found near Everest by Joshua Gates (SciFi Channel TV presenter) and his nine-member paranormal investigation team. They discovered three anthropomorphic prints on the bank of Manju near Mt. Everest, after spending one week in the Khumbu region. Stopping short of declaring a belief in the Yeti, Gates doubts the prints were man-made or that they came from a known creature. Bigfoot has a new name; Anthropoidipes ameriborealis (pdf). Coined by Jeff Meldrum, a professor of anatomy at Idaho State University, the term is derived from footprints, not a body. Meldrum’s outspoken Bigfoot advocacy has gotten him into hot water with his university colleagues. Previously anthropologist Grover Krantz proposed that Bigfoot was Gigantopithecus blacki.

Who is taller, Bin Laden or Bigfoot? Bernard Heuvelmans says: “A creature covered with long hair always looks bigger than it really is...” For that matter how big is Rambo? Or Arnold Schwartzenegger? (Play the game!) How tall are you?

Did John Chambers fake the Patterson Bigfoot Film? If it weren’t for John Landis’ big mouth, maybe no one would have figured out that John Chambers was the man behind the monkey suit in the Patterson-Gimlin Bigfoot film. Of course Chambers denied it (and we’re still waiting to hear back from Landis).

Even though there's no listing for this cliche in the Shark Jumping database, inevitably in every superhero TV show of the 1970s, the hero would face (and defeat) a creature with powers similar to (and usually greater) than their own. Like when Steve Austin battled the SEVEN million dollar man (or when he fought bigfoot). Or when the incredible hulk fought the incredibler hulk. Or when the Knight Industries Two Thousand did battle with its prototype, KARR.God bless YouTube for collecting these precious moments

"After our transparently bogus story and our impossibly shitty video appeared on the website... we received a flood of messages from big-shot bigfoot hunters who were dying to find out about [the] footage. Our plan was working." So, Penn and Teller faked the Sonoma bigfoot footage. But only the BFRO fell for it. Conveniently, they deleted the evidence of that. With so many sasquatch enthusiasts expressing doubt about the video when it was released, can our favorite Libertarian and mime really use it to prove that bigfoot is bullshit?

This entry from the Bigfoot Field Researchers Organization website is kinda creepy, especially if you download the high resolution JPEGs and look at them in an image editor.

The 2005 Texas Bigfoot Conference has ended and, in spite of one or two hitches, all 500 in attendance seemed to have a good time.
Bigfoots are more commonly found in Texas than one would imagine. Indeed, bigfoot sightings throughout the gulf coast are common.

This is Olympian Shadow Farm! Ever heard of the Merrick Foundation? How about Bigfoot Lives? Cougar? Are these guys the hardest working musicians in Portland, Oregon? A bunch of lunatics? And how do you explain this?

Bigfoot is dead. The original 'creator' of the legendary bigfoot hoax has died. Some of his "work". How much more difficult to pull off would a 'hoax' of this magnitude be today?

So if bigfoot can be used as an insanity defense when on trial for triple homicide, what does that say for those who actually believe?
Well, at least the incarcerated can do some light reading while waiting for trial.

Astronomers claim a massive black hole orbits our galaxy sweeping from the outskirts to the core while cryptozoologists claim bigfoot was documented on a 1930s vegetable packing crate.

Cooking With Bigfoot is a flash series about a former TV star turned cable cooking show host (that happens to be a sasquatch). Episode one is up and looks like it could be a fine series when the rest are in place.
