Gaming journalism at its silliest. What do you get when you have the designer of Grim Fandango and Psychonauts Tim Schaefer play a game that you make up on the spot? Text based adventure hilarity. More of the same feature here.

My Crazy Roommate At the beginning of this year, the new guy at work needed a place to live. I ended up letting him sublet one of the rooms in my house. After only a couple of days it became obvious that he is totally insane. The crazy constantly flows from his mouth and is just way too good to not share with the world. Names have been changed to protect the innocent, but other than that - all of the conversations are damn near verbatim.

Some highlights: Lord of the Bellbottoms; behold the Golliwog; That Linebacker Look; Return to Traditional Values; You Should See His Ball Peen Hammer; Never EVER make fun of a man who is both wearing cableknit mittens and holding a shotgun.

Minor Tweaks. No biggie, it's just some guy's little blog, with some hit-or-miss funny stuff and a few running features that are vaguely reminiscent of McSweeney's. The Ikea Dialogues and the Coke Dialogue are worth a chuckle. Note: Anna and Hank really do talk like that; I encourage you to go and harrass them (click "Ask Anna") yourselves. Start by asking if they're married, and take it from there.

As if living in NY wasn't hard enough, this poor guy seems to have gotten himself bitten by something nasty.

Usually, I hate the whole "blog as meta-fiction" thing, but this is saved by good writing and a nice sense of humor. It's a bit annoying that the archives make you start at the bottom, but it's still a fun read. Make sure to check the comments. I still can't decide if the teenagers are part of the fiction, or they thought it was real....

Its real simple - break the rules with no consequences. Usually the crimes you commit are small - but the trick is that they can add up. I hate it when I am the victim of these little trangressions a lot. There must be a way to punish these mini-evil-doers. After playing with this idea for a long time I've come up with a name for it -- the "Squirt-gun offense".
