Hartman brings a tremendous amount of enthusiasm to the documentary, which includes initial pencil tests and also includes file footage of Boris Karloff. Who knew that Fame's Mr. Shorofsky composed the special's music? Or that the singer of "You're a Mean One, Mr. Grinch" also voiced Tony the Tiger in countless Frosted Flakes commercials? wonderful ecards

It has now been several years since Jacquie Lawson, an English artist living in the picturesque village of Lurgashall in Southern England, created an animated Christmas card in 2000. The e-card, featuring her dog, Chudleigh, her cats, and her 15th-century cottage, was sent to a few friends for their amusement. Those friends sent the e-card to others, and within weeks Jacquie was inundated with requests from all over the world to design more e-cards. My favorite Christmas ecard of hers. A lovely birthday card. 101 ecards with about 15 new ones released each year. The international prices/membership fees, in the USA $10 per year.

Children R Skary dot net is available in flash too, if you're so inclined. These children have been very naughty, but methinks Santa fears them. Katy Towell isn't sad or unlucky, but she's a very busy little girl. If you like her stuff more than I do, you can help. heh... i can't believe no one before me has posted this artist's incredible work to The Blue. I did searches and can't find her. Well, she's here, but you have to know where to look.. and I'll leave it at that. =)

The Insects' Christmas - a 1913 Russian stop-motion film about a Father Christmas ornament come to life who rounds up the insects of the forest and Mr. Frog to celebrate the holiday. This film by Ladislaw Starewicz who also produced The Cameraman's Revenge, a wonderful stop-motion film of of insect infidelity. More on the incredible Ladislaw Starewicz and his films. Rudolph Restored

If you've grown up in the states, odds are you've seen/watched the highly rated Christmas special, Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer. Trailer here

When the production was over, the animation company put the puppets in a closet. When they were due to be thrown away, a secretary got permission and took them home. Her children played with the puppets for years...nobody thought they'd be of value. Some of them broke, and last year they were found. (not all were intact.)

There were a number of films after (over 10+ years after the first,) Rudolph's Shiny New Year, Frosty Christmas in July and Island of Misfit Toys.
