&lt;em&gt;If the facts are indeed as reported, the CPS should not have prosecuted Mr Clarke. The CPS should only prosecute when it is the public interest to do so. (And one should always be skeptical of newspaper reports of any court case). But on the narrow point as to whether that possessing a shotgun - and taking that shotgun through the streets (even if to a police station) - should be unlawful, then I think it should be&lt;/em&gt;. </description>
