The William Benton Museum of Art is displaying pulp illustrations from the collection of Robert Lesser. They have also posted close to 500 pictures to Photobucket. Would that they were larger! Via io9. [more inside]

We wanted to hold onto them for as long as possible. Not as much as a tribute to the early history of MAD... but because these paintings were covering up quite a few holes in the walls.

The Grand Comics Database is aiming to become the IMDB of comic books cover art. I only tested a couple from memory, but they seem to have a pretty deep reservoir of content, and fairly large scans of the results. Searchable by series title, character appearance, writer, illustrator and a number of other criteria.
