Happy Pulaski Day! Pulaski Day honors General Kazimierz Pułaski, a Polish cavalry commander who fought for the Colonies in the American Revolution. Born in Warsaw in 1745, he died in 1779 of wounds suffered in the Battle of Savannah Known as "the father of the American Cavalry," he is remembered today by a federal holiday in addition to several state holidays near his birthday in March.

CBC Television's sitcom Little House on the Mosque, starring Carlo Rota of 24, has been mentioned before on the blue and grey. Reviews have actually been pretty positive, the ratings have been good, and now you can decide for yourself whether the "brou-ha-ha" was worth it (all 8 episodes linked inside). Don't think a sitcom can possibly capture Muslim life accurately? Well, maybe Morgan Spurlock's 30 Days can do a better job for you. It's pretty fascinating viewing, either way. Reid Stowe and Soanya Ahmad have embarked on a 1000 day journey aboard a 60 foot schooner named Anne which Reid built. They will remain beyond sight of land and will not be resupplied during the voyage. Reid has considerable experience as a sailor, having first sailed at 20 to Tahiti from Hawaii...and later building a a catamaran which he sailed across the Atlantic.
