Gives a whole new meaning to "finger painting"

Seikou Yamaoka spends a lot of time on his iphone. But he's not playing games or texting or reading, he's creating art. He's also created some amazingly hypnotic time-lapse videos of his works in creation, including this reproduction of Vermeer's Girl with a Pearl Earring (done on an ipad mini rather than an iphone). Full gallery of his digital finger painting. He also does traditional watercolours.

Skhoinarion uses his own custom software to make mathematical art, ranging from the architectural to the strikingly natural. His animations feature digital and digitally-manipulated analog content and are also quite remarkable.

Welcome to Sketchfu, where you can draw and share.

In sort of the same vein as the MS Paint posts seen here lately is a website where you too can draw, and have the process of it captured to be watched over and over again - Sketchfu. The application isn't nearly as complex even as MS Paint, yet you'd be amazed what kind of work some of these people put together.

Sexy pixels.

Digital Artform is a fascinating resource for those interested in 3D graphics, digital painting, and the like. How about turning 2D stills into 3D animations, the truth about motion blur and colour mixing, or outlines in action? Also, a recipe for making your own Viewmaster reels, and the politics of colour saturation.
