In the late 1970s the UK's Anglia Television ran a respected weekly documentary series:
Science Report. But when the show was cancelled in 1977, the producers decided to channel Orson Welles in their final episode. The result was
Alternative 3. Over the course of the hour, the audience would learn that a
Science Report investigation into the UK "brain drain" had uncovered shocking revelations: man-made pollution had resulted in catastrophic climate change, the Earth would soon be rendered uninhabitable, and a secret American / Soviet joint plan was in place to establish colonies on the Moon and Mars. The show ended with footage of a US/Soviet Mars landing from May 22, 1962. After Alternative 3 aired,
thousands of panicked viewers phoned the production company and demanded to know how long they had left to change planets. [more inside]

(Warning: several-hour documentaries ahead)Peter Joseph, the creator of the 2007 hit conspiracy documentary
Zeitgeist, has
come a long way from pleading 9/11 truth, attacking the foundations of Christianity, and warning of one-world governments. In his 2009 sequel,
Zeitgeist: Addendum, Joseph steers away from the "man behind the curtain" theme and centers the film around a radically different thesis:
money is obsolete,
technology is our future, and
society must be redesigned.
Addendum has enjoyed a dose of
mainstream discussion, but Peter ain't done.
Now it's 2011, and Joseph's third and completing installment,
Zeitgeist: Moving Forward, opened with
314 screenings world wide, and the film bears even less resemblance to its grandparent.
Who is this Peter Joseph guy, anyway? [more inside]

here), to the Bush's connection to Reagan's assassination, CIA and Iran-Contra, ending with the unsettling origins and profiles of the current administration. A great election primer, featuring comics and art by Steve Brodner, Ralph Steadman, Spain Rodriguez and many others. (

The Road to Tyranny (Realvideo). A sensational and informative
film by Alex Jones. Ignore the presentation, or, consider it entertainment if you wish, but there's some pretty good content in there including some surprising news footage from the aftermath of the OKC bombing 19 minutes in.
