Falling Man

Falling Man: the many faces of a 9/11 riddle chronicles the attempts of Tom Junod to identify the "falling man" photographed by Richard Drew on September 11, 2001. Junod wrote an Esquire article about the Falling Man in September 2003 (August 2003 NPR interview) that inspired a documentary. The Falling Man may have been Jonathan Briley.

Gunner Palace

This is the war you haven't seen in the news. Michael Tucker spent a month in Iraq with the 2/3 Field Artillery (aka the "Gunner" Battalion), and Gunner Palace is his forthcoming documentary. (Three soldiers from the unit were on the cover of Time's 2003 Person of the Year issue.) There are two QuickTime trailers from the movie. [via WarBlogging]

I vividly remember watching Ken Burns' amazingly great The Civil War during the Gulf War. Now that we're apparently having a Gulf War sequel, The Civil War has been remastered and re-released. The Washington Post jumps on the bandwagon with an online discussion with Ken Burns and a great Flash map of the campaign from the Seven Days to Antietam.
