Pacific Garden Mission in Chicago, Illinois has produced dramatized salvation stories which are now
syndicated around the world. 2,950 weekly one hour stories have been produced so far, and the variety of wayward paths these poor sinners have taken is astonishing, running the gamut from "
Gambling, Lying, Fear", to "
Country Music, Bigamy, Pride" to "
Jewish, Seeking, Piano(
part 2)." Whatever their false beliefs, all these fortunate folks have one thing in common (well, besides being voiced by the
same few people): their hearts and minds and lives have all been
UNSHACKLED! With impressive production values and sound effects created onstage during the live taping, it may be the last true radio drama.
Sadly, PGM does not evangelize open audio formats; Real or WMP only.

Marjoe Gortner, world's youngest preacher kicked off his religious career by performing a marriage at the age of four and a half. "In the Name of Politics" (NYT) Rev. John C. Danforth, the outgoing US ambassador to the UN, Republican Senator for 18 years, native Missouran and Episcopal minister worries that the Republican Party is turning very literally theocratic. In this short editorial he states "the only explanation ... is the extension of religious doctrine into statutory law."

lifted their ban on inter-racial dating, but a
parents' note is still required.

If you're already familiar with the work of
Jack Chick, the creator of those amusingly offensive evangelist comic books, you probably know not to take him too seriously -- after all, the threat of being thrown into a giant lake of fire by an angel isn't particularly frightening. Still, when
his new tract starts with an image of the smoldering twin towers, and ends with the words,
"Bob, now I know that Allah doesn't really love me or even care about any Muslim. But Jesus, the Son of God, does," it's difficult not to worry that this time he's bitten off more than he can chew.
