This is Zombotron. You can scavenge for items and kill the undead in this Flash game. Your less-advanced mechanical brethren may even shoot you on site, as they are only programmed to detect motion. Welcome to Zombotron.

Impasse is a simple flash-based puzzle game that involves getting your object from point A to B.
Notes:
Levels you complete can be scrolled through using "x" to move to the next level and "d" to return the level select button to the first level.
The browser saves your progress, so you can close your tab/browser and return to it later.

Twenty years ago today, the gaming world saw the launch of a truly landmark title:
Sonic the Hedgehog. Developed as a vehicle for a new Sega mascot, the fluid, vibrant, cheery-tuned wonderland swiftly became the company's flagship product, inspiring over the ensuing decades
an increasingly convoluted universe of TV shows,
comic books, and dozens of games on a variety of systems (all documented in
this frighteningly comprehensive TVTropes portal). And while in recent years the series has turned out
more and more mediocre 3D and RPG efforts, the original games remain crown jewels of the 16-bit era. So why not kick off this anniversary by replaying the titles that started it all for free in your browser:
Sonic the Hedgehog (1991),
Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (1992),
Sonic the Hedgehog 3 (1994),
Sonic & Knuckles (1994). Or click inside for music, remakes, and other fun stuff!

'Dumbland is a crude, stupid, violent, absurd series. If it is funny, it is funny because we see the absurdity of it all.' Fresh off the critical success of
Mulholland Dr. [
previously] in 2001,
David Lynch set out in 2002 to conquer the internet, creating a paywalled website to feature original content like his short film
Darkened Room, an anti-sitcom called
Rabbits, and the intentionally lowbrow
DumbLand.
Featuring animation, music, sound effects, and voice acting entirely by Lynch,
DumbLand is a black and white Flash animation series with a total running time of approximately half an hour.
A few notes on DumbLand from Lynch. [

And super-previously.]

This year marks a decade of
Strong Bad Emails, sent from Strong Bad's desk. Next to his computer sits a box of
floppy discs, often displaying game titles. If you missed those titles, the detail-oriented
Homestar Runner wiki (
previously)
provides game titles, summaries, and links. Many of the games are old computer games like
Rise of the Dragon or
Miner 2049er, and some titles are linked to
Lord_Pall's
revived Home of the Underdogs abandonware game archive. Other games have links to
the Videlectrix catalog, where you can see
box art and
play some demos. Or you can go back to the Homestar Runner wiki, and go to the list of
playable Videlectrix titles, like
50k Racewalker (
play online)
Polulation: Tire (
play online) or
Peasant's Quest (
play online) (More previous stuff:
Peasant's Quest and
Where's An Egg?).

Freaky Friday Flash Fun, Flatting Flies:
Insectonator is a top-down shooter. Well, "shooter" is a stretch; this is more of "stomp, drop things, overkill with naplam" attack on pretty much every homeowner's nightmare: a bunch of crawly bugs in the dark that avoid the flashlight.
The bugs don't shoot back, so the game is just an endurance test by the player. And there are two awards for actually sticking around long enough. Weapons include a rock, your boot, various guns (including sniper rifles), rocket launchers, an anvil, naplam, and finally, a nuclear weapon.
Via the ever excellent
Jay Is Games.
