On-line Air Hockey
C'mon, kids! (Something else to distract me...just what I needed.)
Defend NYC From Hijacked Airplanes [Flash Required]
You're somewhere in NYC shooting down incoming jets as they try to crash into the World Trade Center. The text is in French, but the mechanics are easy to understand if you know how to play missle command. Is there going to be a mod for "Hunt the Wumpus" called "Hunt The Osama".
Find the terrorist.
If only things like this got forwarded as much as that Gordon Sinclair piece
Love the new Gorillaz video
(in Cinema section. Warning: Shockwave intensive). But is it me, or is their music just a bit so-so? And rejecting the Mercury Music Prize
was just petulant.
Des this have a familiar ring to it? Seems I have heard this music score before...
Praystation 3 - The latest from Joshua Davis
I'm sure many of you are familiar with praystation.com and its stunning use of flash and/or imagery. Check out his new release.
Another interview with bin Laden, with a twist,
just to show everyone what a pacifist I really am. Slightly slow-loading, completely interactive. Fun and games for a Tuesday night.
Because we could all use a little more love right now. I know I could.
Inflicting Confectionary Torture On Racial Stereotypes.
Courtesy of Venco
, makers of that delightful Nederlander candy treat Dubbel Zout
(coal-black licorice briquets covered in two layers of salt). Through the magic of Flash animation, you can now engage in that most demonic form of torture: Forcing-feeding questionable Dutch candy down the throats of ethnic minorities and watching their reactions. Something tells me the closest the Venco people have ever gotten to a "Mexicaan" is a Cheech & Chong movie.
The Little Ninja.
A beautiful Flash series, one of the best I have stumbled across in my travels around the web. The music, artwork and production are all top notch, and Ninjai's voice is just spellbinding. Anyone know of any other high-quality flash comics like this one?
- Have you ever wanted to run Mac OS 8 on your PC, but couldn't? Well now you can with this flash animation. I'm amazed at how detailed it is.
Tales for the L33+.
Because the l33+ need to understand classic literature, too.
Chris has done several other Flash movies
, and you can download Tales for the L33+ from the listings page as a ZIP file, if you decide you like it and want to watch it again and again while saving his site from the same bandwidth-sucking fate as that one song with the squirrel and the weeeeeeeeee!
and the strife and the Ron Jeremy and all that.
Double post. But a good one.
This was posted about a year ago, but I just wasted two hours playing virtual Pictionary and had to make you all suffer the same fate.
More stick fighter action!
This is one of the more interesting uses of Flash. Mmm tasty! (be warned, 2 meg download but well worth the wait)
Another flash movie
attempts to be both 'witty' and 'clever'. Remember kids, friends don't let friends make crappy flash movies in hopes of becoming the next AYBABTU.
Demo Design is neat.
Lots of flash to entertain you
. Try the sound section; I feel like I'm Ross from Friends wigging out on my ancient synthesizer, but with modern drum loops. And dig the clock if you click on the middle or right symbols that appear if you click on video.
This is truly awesome.
Awesome. Awesome. Awesome. Awesome. Awesome.
Just the best use of flash, collaborative model/data building and use of interactive interface to explain a complex issue... i.e. the interconnections of money, influence and power in boardrooms of the global economy.
Conceived designed and built by Josh ON and the FutureFarmers
I think it's going to move to a more permanent and snappier URL once it's fully ready for prime-time... I hope Josh and the gang don't mind me posting it here... but it's just too good not too... It genuinely deserves a lot of praise and attention, IMHO.
Driving Over Jakob Nielsen:
use left arrow to move left, right arrow to move right (which is quite useable really!)
Any fellow mefi'ers at FlashForward2001
in NYC right now?
The Jim Morrison Simulatron
can still make me laugh.*
"THIRTY YEARS AGO last week, Doors frontman Jim Morrison mixed drugs, alcohol and asthma to ascend to the big Whisky A Go-Go in the sky. Here in the virtual world, though, Modern Humorist has reanimated him in the form of lines and lines of programming code."
*Warning: Stupid Flash game
Amusing flash movie
A fun Super Mario movie; brings back some memories.
So, who let these dog's out?
This fits perfectly with my 6th grade humor.
Once Upon a Forest
It's the weekend; head for a gallery. Some interactive, some not. Stereo sound makes it more fun.
FLASH - O - RAMA!!!
The Flashforward Flash film festival finalasts. Hours of fun....
Cooking With Bigfoot
is a flash series about a former TV star turned cable cooking show host (that happens to be a sasquatch). Episode one is up and looks like it could be a fine series when the rest are in place.
Another fun way to waste time on the web.
Electrotank.com went live today. Their minigolf game had been available in beta form for a week or two, but the last 9 were disabled. Now they're all there except for #18, and the dreaded hole 8 has been moved to 17. There are other games too, and a "vision" statement, the first item of which is that they will "Provide a place where people can go to play free high quality online games. " Sounds good to me! Flash plug-in required...
More kung-fu flash madness...
this time, with Bruce Lee! Someone managed to attach an image of Lee's head in various expressions to make a somewhat 3d version of the stick fight. Wild. (From Usr/bin/girl
Simple but addictive Flash ball-bouncing game.
Let's not start posting top scores here! (But, I got 75.) Man, am I easily amused.
Green Flash bashes Bush
Greenpeace is launching a contest to highlight the absurdity of the Bush positions on climate change and/or missile defence using Macromedia Flash. The contest, open to everyone and having no prize other than a link, runs through July 6th and should be almost as much fun as the 5k
Le Piano Graphique music simulator.
A few keystrokes and a bit of Shockwave and -- Voilà! -- you've created a musical/artistic masterpiece.
- This was discussed earlier
this year. I ran across this very well done flash site and was amazed at how presentation can affect one's views on a subject. Although aware of the story, it seems more real
presented this way.
More UK political, flash 5 tie in games
to pass the time. The creators of these games
should be the ones to manage the parties promotions then I'm sure more people would vote politics than who gets voted out of the big brother house
Star Wars + Flash + Rap = Goodness
This is the funniest thing that I've seen in quite some time. I don't think it's been posted before, but this thing had me rolling on the floor this early Friday afternoon.
I'm sorry, but this
It's yet another AYB take-off... But well done And with Papa Smurf!
It says "Nobody Here
" but someone's obviously spent quite some time on this site. Just look at the 404
page. (via methylsalicylate
Brownies + Sheep + Flash
= another pointless yet mysteriously engaging waste of time.
If your looking for terrific writing and a gallery of flash art/movies updated monthly, you might want to check out Spark Online
. There are a lot of E/N and discorse sites out there, but few I've stuck with as long as Spark. Their forums are usually hot with debate and quality insights. (Again, one of my favs)
John Prescott get's hit by an egg
. 24 hours later there are jokes flying around and this Flash Game
springs up as well. How quickly do these people work.. Do they know that these incidents are going to happen before they happen, maybe they are aliens???... maybe there's a government conspiracy... maybe hmm just maybe.. To the bat cave!!
neo-neo psychedelic, man
the new new psychedlic art artists are creating with Flash is trippy.
It's like 1968 all over again, without the nasty side effects (nam, nixon). I'm quittin my job and moving to Frisco.
Schadenfreude plus Flash equals Cadge Cinema.
Nothing groubdbreaking, nothing life-changing, but a nice way to waste a little time by laughing at the misfortune of others.
Fun, rewarding, nice way to spend some time. "Levers" (lower left image) is a challenge, "Park" (lower right image) has plenty of nice surprises. [Flash reqired. Seen on usr\bin\girl & k10k
What is a Print?
is perhaps the coolest bit of informative interactive Flash work I have seen. Well explained, meaningful interaction (not just click and watch), clean, and the transitions aren't too slow. Nice. (Props to xplane
for the link.)
I was looking at this flash stick fight,
when I looked for its origin, I found this bit filed under "Western Culture"
. Is this western culture? kill, power, bad boy, child criminal, morality, abortion, alcohol, castration, hot or not, cleavage, gays on tv in America, indulgence, cosmetic surgery, and cyber-subversives? Like, zoinks.
Internet Killed The Video Star
-- More Flash I'm afraid.... but it's a great animated video.
Assume your heroic form
with this harmless, addictive bit of Flash. (Warning: probably coming to you by email soon, if not already.)
Great little shockwave game here.
Like a little slice of childhood.. I remember putting together these racetracks and racing those little electric cars along them. Great fun, and there's even a 2 player option. Sweet.
A Flash usability white paper
that says Flash can improve the usability of a web site.
"When executed correctly, with attention paid to the needs and wants of users, Macromedia Flash content can actually improve the user experience on any Web site."
Can Flash be saved if developers start thinking about usability? Is this going to impact Jakob Nielsen's 99% figure?
So that's how it works
. A lonely flash animator toils away in the name of medicine. The voice over sounds a lot like Jeff Goldblum. Link was found on Medbroadcast.com
