Richard Sherman

Last night, the Seattle Seahawks defeated their arch rivals, the San Francisco 49ers, to make it to the American football "Superbowl." Nearly immediately after making the game winning play, Seattle's Richard Sherman gave an incredibly intense sideline interview in which he called out the opposing team's wide receiver. Criticized by pundits and fans alike, Sherman this morning wrote an op-ed explaining the emotions that fueled his rant. Before you think Sherman a fool, know that he was the Salutatorian of his high school class and graduated with a 3.9 GPA from Stanford. He is a smart guy.

Commie American Football

Manifesto: People’s Union of American College Football: Make American Football Strong Like Bull, Smart Like Tractor. Under former capitalist system, American college football very unfair. Only few teams is climbing to top of heap, and is making all the money, especially more dollars on the television contract. Best, powerful teams is playing cupcake opponent, then flying across country to form conference alliance with faraway team, while also ignoring strong opponent right over next hill. People’s Union of American College Football is creating much better system. Each team is playing best quality opponents throughout season. Each team is being organized by geography, and must fight way out of home District to qualify for national playoff. Champion is last team standing, and is TRUE champion over all other teams in whole country.

Tressel Resigns

Jim Tressel, one of the most successful college football coaches in history, has resigned as coach of the Ohio State Buckeyes. After several players were discovered to have traded Ohio State football memorabilia for tattoos (actions which represent NCAA violations), it was revealed that Tressel knew of the player's actions and attempted to conceal the information from investigators. Though Tressel often projected a squeaky clean, conservative image, detractors have often accused him of hypocrisy.

Jake the Snake

You have to wonder why a red-blooded American male in his prime would walk away from fame and fortune as an NFL quarterback to play handball and hang with his family and his dogs. Don't you? A profile of Jake "The Snake" Plummer.
