If you've been procrastinating on cleaning your monitor or laptop screen, the game Where's the Pixel just might be the encouragement you've been waiting for.
Theme Hotel If you build it, they will stay the night. But you may want to turn off the music. Fun, addicting little "Sim Hotel" game, reminiscent of SimTower.
Somewhere between the ultimate physics simulator and a freeform 2-D version of Minecraft lies The Powder Toy, a free download for Windows, Mac, and Linux. With over 150 elements available to build from (and a full implementation of the game of life), users have built "working" electricity-generating reactors, rockets, and destructible city models. The Powder Toy is a variant on the venerable Falling Sand Game, the most impressive version of which is the Powder Game, now up to version 8, and playable online as a Java applet. [more inside]
Friday Flash Fun: Nuclearoids. A little like Boomshine, a lot like dominoes. But with explosions. And bouncy balls. And colors. Lots of colors! Not too brain engaging, with particle attraction and even black holes. [more inside]
"Since I was a little boy I have always dreamed that one day man would journey to the moon and beyond. I now try to create images that show the possibilities of space flight with the technologies that are currently available today or what could be in the near future. In doing so, I try to depict what a manned space mission might actually look like to one of the 9 planets in our solar system." [Not Flash, but fun for Friday anyway.]
Dr. Mitch McGraw, famous scientist, is shrunk in a freak accident to the size of a flea and ends up in the hair of his assistant, Ted Preston. Some Friday fun for those of you stuck in the office.
Friday Fun (posted early). "Do It Yourself" virtual building blocks (similar to the virtual Legos a while back). Addiction Rating: Mid-Range (no worries--it won't eat your life like Bookworm did). Very simple blocks can make surprisingly beautiful, even complex creations (awfully tough to approximate a Gothic groin vault with the available shapes, but trying's half the fun). (Signup 'membership' is free.)
More friday fun games... In the last three days I killed way to much time on this little game. Being that friday seems to be the day to release links to flash stuff and games, I leave you with Marbles.
