it's hard to look right at you, baby, but here's my number, so call me maybe

"Call Me Maybe" (Chatroulette version) is Steve Kardynal's latest costumed lip-sync cover video - and as usual it comes complete with hilarious & happy audience reaction shots. If you like this, you'll probably also enjoy his Chatroulette versions of Katy Perry's "Peacock" (previously) and Lady GaGa's "Telephone" (previously). All videos may be considered NSFWish. Pull it off suddenly and presto, friend freakouts

Julia Kristeva wrote about the horror of Abjection, when the body that formally was considered a unified whole is disturbing to see/touch when the parts are separated. Or it can be really funny, as can be seen when this gentleman pranks (YT) his friends by making a wig of his own hair. via reddit

What went wrong during Dave Chappelle’s Austin appearance?

Dave Chappelle, still facing pressure from audiences who want him to do bits from "Chappelle's Show", did not amuse an audience in Austin. Which begs the question: Do we expect too much from entertainers?

And a great anger was Nookd in the hearts of the e-readers

While reading an e-book copy of War and Peace on his Nook, North Carolina blogger Philip noticed a minor glitch in the text: "It was as if a light had been Nookd in a carved and painted lantern." He ignored it and moved on, but then encountered a similar error shortly thereafter. As it turned out, the word "kindle" had been systematically replaced by "Nook" throughout the whole book. Shave time. Shave Money.

Dollar Shave Club’s launch ad (SLYT). "In its parody-toned ad, the company CEO takes us on a tour of the Dollar Shave Club warehouse. It turns out the guy in the video really is the founder and CEO of the new start-up, Michael Dubin. What’s more surprising, though, is the fact that he made the ad himself. 'The world is filled with bad commercials and people who are marketing too hard,' Dubin says. 'I think what we wanted to do is not take ourselves too seriously, and deliver an irreverent smart tone.'"

Wondering why that special someone you met the other night never got back to you after the first date? Maybe you were a wee bit too forward - or maybe the fifty-odd messages you sent in 24 hours ended up being hilariously, dramatically read on-air by New Zealand's Fletch and Vaughn.
