Plants vs. Zombies is out. (Mac also). Demo available. $10 on Steam. Adorable promo music video. It has more minigames than you can shake a stick at including a reskinned bejewelled twist & insaniquarium. (in fact it is by the same designer behind insaniquarium). Unfortunately in-game music is not as cool as the promo video, but still a darned addictive game overall.

Casual Collective has been linked before[Previously, and Previously-er], but they have some more recent, well-crafted games. Get Smart Control Defense is a tower defense style game. Yes, it's sponsored by the movie, but it's not particularly bad about bludgeoning you with ads. Attack of the Buggles is a totally different style of game, where manual dexterity is king. You play a lone gray buggle, collecting blue boxes to boost your score while avoiding the red buggles, which increase in number as you collect more boxes. There is a time-slowing mechanic, and, even more satisfying, a periodic green buggle that allows you to take revenge on those nasty reds. Other single player games include: Desktop Armada Missions Flash Element TD and Flash Element TD 2 Registration is not required to play any of the single player games. To play multi-player games, you can register for free. If you want to play the currently-in-beta Buggle Stars, you must pay to upgrade your registered account.

Flash Friday: If you enjoyed GemCraft (recently posted by juv3nal), you'll want to stop by towerdefence.net, catering to all of your tower defense needs. With a hundred Flash games and ten downloadable ones, you're sure to find something you like. There's Bloons 2, where the creeps are balloons and your towers are dart-throwing monkeys. Canyon Defense rewards you with new types of towers for completing various goals. Your towers can perform devastating combos in Onslaught. Budapest Defenders, though short, is an attractively designed take on the genre, with an interesting historical theme and randomly generated maps. Go for a Tron-like vibe with Vector TD. And there's plenty more where those came from.

GemCraft Flash Tower Defense goodness. Neat little rpg/upgrading touches in between maps. Lots of maps with some epic bosses thrown in every once in a while. Protips: your mana/gold is also your life/health. Mana pool thingy trades a chunk of mana for a higher income rate/greater max. capacity so is best used early. Meet "glowing frame" score thresholds to unlock seekrit levels.

Paul and Dave, creators of the extremely popular Desktop Tower Defense flash game, have just opened up their new flash games site to the public! Currently on the site are the previously-mentioned Desktop Tower Defense, an earlier game called Flash Element Tower Defense, and two new games-- Desktop Armada and Buggle. DTD and DA have multiplayer versions for additional fun. A sequel to Flash Element will be released soon and many more games are planned for the future.
