The New York Times reports
that community forum sites like Digital Point Solutions'
have created a system whereby forum participants share in the Google AdSense revenue (Revenue sharing FAQ
). Digital Point claims that no gaming of the system has occurred so far. A google search turns up at least a handful
of other sites
that are doing the same (but no major sites, it seems), and the latest drupal adsense module
apparently makes it easy to set up. Curious. [Full disclosure: I know nothing about any of this. I mean, I barely know what a 'blog is (and I'm sticking to that leading apostrophe -- it's the only thing standing between us and Babelian anarchy and we're not even sure 'Babelian' is a legitimate word so now we're really mired in the hypocrisy, huh?).]

This is a story
about some yahoo who registered several domains to spread his story about developing Peritoneal Mesothelioma after having Laser Hair Removal in Washington DC. For some reason he thought Wisconsin Lemon Laws were in his favor and he'd soon get a huge settlement paid with Best Buy gift cards. It turns out he should have had temporary medical insurance. Now he is looking for a Personal Injury Solicitor.

Google To Start Selling Banner Adverts
From the that-didn't-take-too-long-department, Google's ad sales VP Tim Armstrong says Google will now start selling graphical banner adverts. One concession to their old mores is that, for now, the banner adverts will only appear on affiliated websites running their AdSense
referral program (as does MeFi), and there is an opt-out. However... "We have no plans to show images on Google.com"
, said Mr. Armstrong "but we are not opposed to it"
