Heinz Meanz Beanz: Is America ready for a sassy, intelligent, outspoken, wilful, foul-mouthed, irreverent, garrulous, domineering, flamboyant, freethinking and utterly charming First Lady?* Portugal certainly is - as Teresa Heinz Kerry, born Teresa Simoes Ferreira, is Portuguese and it would be nice to have ~~a secret agent~~ such a close ally in the White House. But there's also a lot of hate about. Do most American voters really take candidates' wives, husbands or partners into account? *Heh. The "utterly charming" was added at the last minute when I realized that all these adjectives could apply to Hilary Clinton.

Chocolate, Blue 'Funky Fries' pulled from shelves The notorious ~~freedom~~ french fries with the flavors of chocolate, cinnamon and blue-colored variety have been pulled by Heinz due to poor sales and overall revulsion by consumers around the nation (especially here at MeFi). Can you think of other such horrific failed foods that were disgusting from the start?

Chocolate french fries? I thought Heinz might have gone too far with green ketchup, but Cocoa Crispers, "brown chocolate fries designed for kids with a sweet tooth" really make my stomach turn. Also announced: Crunchy Rings - basically Tater Tots with a hole in the middle. Yum.

I'm not sure I want my ketchup "funky". Heinz announces "funky purple" ketchup, because their green ketchup was so successful.

Heinz makes green ketchup. Green ketchup? According to a Heinz representative, "Green is going to be a shocker for a lot of adults, but kids don't have those hangups". The article also says, "company executives are hoping its unexpected colour and plastic bottle - which squirts a stream so thin kids can draw with it - will attract fans."

I see a few problems here (after the novelty wears off):
1) It's supposed to be the color of spinach - I know a few kids who would have a problem with anything spinach-colored.
2) If kids are meant to use it to squirt and draw things, parents will have a little something to say about that.

So, what's next, blue salsa? Pink mustard? Green mayo?
