"A Very Long Routine Compared To .. The Others Foot-Juggling Acts"

Selyna Bogino (facebook, twitter) is an Italian circus performer and antipode (foot) juggler. One of her practice videos, involving five basketballs, has almost two million views on youtube since 2011. In an interview about the video, she noted that she's a fifth generation circus performer and has been practicing since she was 8 years old. She can also do amazing things with hula hoops, and with clubs (another practice video).

If you've seen Babe, you wouldn't be able to eat this!

The Jim J. and Tammy Faye Show was a short-run syndicated talk show from 1996. Staring the eccentric duo of Jim Bullock and Tammy Faye Bakker Messner (replaced by Ann Abernathy due to Tammy Faye's initial cancer diagnosis that ultimately took her). Some off-beat guests included Hula-Hooper Mat Plendl, Sweepstakes King Steve Ledoux, Handwriting Expert Bart Baggett, and in this insane, hot-dog waving intro from episode 6 features sword swallower Zamora The Torture King.

GoPro or Go Home

MeFi has seen a GoPro camera attached to a sword, but after running across a video of one attached to a Hula Hoop (it'll make you dizzy) I decided to look for more and found a trove of sports, most of which are created by GoPro and as such may come across as advertising, but some are independently shot, so put that aside if you can. I'll probably never take up any of these activities, but I get an idea of what they're like via helmet or pole-cam. There's the Base Jump; the GoPro at 80,000 feet (near space); Boogie Boarding Surf; Surfing; Racing up Pike's Peak; Mountain Biking; a Kayak Competition; Kiteboarding; Longboarding; the 2010 Highlight Reel and many more. Damn, now I want one!

Ethan Law Roue Cyr performs a solo dance with a hula hoop. This is beautiful, a little astonishing, and more than a little moving. I didn't look away once. [more inside]

As someone said, "awesomeness compressed into one video."

Hoops, bellydance, circus, burlesque, fire, LEDs, staff, rainbows - what else could you fit in one performance? (SLYVF)

You know . . . for adults!

Hooping. The hoops adults use to dance and perform tricks are larger and heavier than the children's toy called the Hula Hoop. As hooping becomes more popular, people across the States and across the world are pushing the boundaries of dance and sport with a simple, easily made tool. Hooping for pleasure, exercise, and meditation is becoming a phenomenon. There's even a documentary. [more inside]
