The lena image has been used <a href="http://images.google.com/images?q=lena%20compression&num=30&hl=en&lr=&c2coff=1&safe=off&client=firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&sa=N&tab=wi">countless times</a> to evaluate image compression algorithms, not without <a href="http://www-2.cs.cmu.edu/~chuck/lennapg/optical.html">some</a> <a href="http://www-2.cs.cmu.edu/~chuck/lennapg/editor.html">controversy</a>.
