I don't know about you, but I won't feel truly secure until the Office of Homeland Security has its own logo. The White House is still just using the presidential seal: boring. The Patent Office's
entry has a nice retro feel to it, but some might find it too menacing. The USDA's is maybe a bit too subject-specific. What do you think: should we keep it simple, or go with something a little more strongly stated? What sort of design would make you feel secure?

Visa in Financial Trouble... Can't buy a clue
This takes the cake. Visa is announcing a new Animated Logo with a press release. This animated logo (with sound!) will be played when ever someone makes a wireless purchase with their visa, alerting everyone within earshot of what you are doing. In addition to the animated logo they are staking claim to the newest buzz word to make executives sound stupid: U-commerce.

Vive Le Google! ...or maybe "Viva La Google" or something...
I don't think I've seen Google use their logo to celebrate a non-American holiday before. Will we get holidays from around the world now? Can we expect a glorious logo for St. Swithin's Day? Where will it end????

Should Apple change its name? After all, they changed the way we use computers. They changed the way we design. They recently changed their logo. That would certainly be thinking different now, wouldn't it? Personally, I'd like them to change their minds and release a six-slot G4 chassis...

Ha! Ever since a court ruled that Disney/Go couldn't use the green stoplight logo, they've actually begun removing them from their sites. Too bad the new logo looks like an afterthought, but I suppose they were under a pretty tight deadline (make a new one NOW!).
