The Master is With Us Always

Tom Neyman, best known as "The Master" in the film Manos: The Hands of Fate has passed away at age 80. The news comes from his daughter, Jackey Neyman Jones, who played Debbie in the legendary Z-Movie riffed on Mystery Science Theater 3000. MST3k Fansite Satellite News reports as well. [more inside]

I am Torgo. I take care of the place while the Master is away

"Manos" Revisited: Live in theaters tonight, the Rifftrax crew re-visit one of most treasured MST3K experiments of all time. Why not get ready by watching the "making of" documentary "Hotel Torgo." Or, for the truly brave, the entire film.

Mandolin and Unicycle

The Mandolin & Unicycle Project is a thesis project from Matt Manos. "I have always wanted to learn how to ride a unicycle, and I have always wanted to learn how to play the mandolin, so the most logical conclusion I came to was to learn how to play the mandolin while riding the unicycle. In one month." The project blog starts here.

"Torgo...I just met a fella named Torgo..."

"The Hand That Time Forgot" - Richard Brandt interviews two men who worked on the now-classic train wreck of a film, Manos: The Hands of Fate. Find out what drives someone to gather $19,000 and make what is by many accounts the worst film ever made! Also available is the followup, "Growing Up Manos," in which we gain another perspective ("It was so obviously bad that even a seven-year-old could see it") from Jackey Jones, who played the little girl.

Holy Torgo! When did this come out on DVD??? Manos: the Hands of Fate is the best movie ever made by a fertilizer salesman, which makes it one of the worst movies ever made (and therefore perhaps the best MST3K episode). If, like me, you are tired of waiting for the 30th Anniversary Edition of this "movie," be sure to read this fascinating behind-the-scenes look at the world of Torgo, with the movie's cinematographer and stunt coordinator (ha HA!) as your guides.
