Drew Marshall hosts Canada's "most listened to" spiritual radio program. As a former pastor who is fed up with phony church culture, he does an interesting job of critiquing North American Christianity from the inside. This fair-minded interview with Richard James, the high priest of the Wiccan Church of Canada, is worth a listen, as is the longest interview ever recorded with the late James Brown. Those unfamiliar with Marshall can get a feel for his style by watching his interview on 100 Huntley Street, a Canadian Christian talk show. It aired only once and was then pulled due to the ensuing controversy.

When can federal bankruptcy judges rule on state probate matters?
In Marshall vs Marshall, the Supreme Court will consider this rather unsexy, technical issue during its next session.

Yeah, Yeah, Yeah: The decline of literacy essay has been a cyclical product since the ancient Greeks. Isn't it funny contemporary doomsayers never mention that reading and writing medium. hot on the heels of text-destroying television, that is the Internet? Or doesn't it count? Hands up those who wish the good Marshall was still around to put us right.

Chan Marshall [Cat Power] Does Karaoke. I realize this link has made the rounds, but I hadn't seen it mentioned on MeFi. For anyone familiar with Chan's fragile live performances, you'll love seeing this rare display of self-confidence as she covers "All Day & All of the Night" and "The Real Slim Shady" in RealAudio!
