Being an attractive woman, Ubisoft decided to <a href="http://www.thebitbag.com/index.php/2007/11/17/jade-raymond-ubisoft-poster-girl/">capitalize</a> on this fact, leading to <a href="http://kotaku.com/gaming/jade-raymond/">sad and pathetic</a> <a href="http://kotaku.com/gaming/assassin.s-creed/jade-smells-pretty-at-london-games-fest-313920.php">video game coverage</a> of said woman. Then the <a href="http://www.feministe.us/blog/archives/2007/11/19/the-trouble-with-jade/">comic </a> <a href="http://www.gamegirladvance.com/archives/2007/11/16/jade_raymond_is_for_real.html">hit</a>. The comic (which being of extraordinary poor taste, I will not link to. A panel of it is shown in the first link) plays to every horrible misogynistic stereotype that people have about women in video games. As can be expected, this caused an uproar, with Ubisoft trying to sue the comic off the Internet, even sending threatening letters to <a href="http://www.somethingawful.com">SomethingAwful</a>, <a href="http://forums.somethingawful.com/showthread.php?threadid=2686438">with predictable results</a>. I would like to proud when I say "I play video games".
