Mixcloud is a website that allows anyone to upload a podcast/radio show/mix, and anyone else to stream it in-browser. A quick glance at the
categories page should show you that it leans somewhat clubbish, but you can also find a fairly good range of music (e.g.,
musique concrete) and talk (e.g.,
Lithuanian politics) that's not so dancefloor-oriented.
There are some big names posting on the site (
Carl Cox,
FACT mag,
Mary Ann Hobbs), and a pretty good tag and search system for poking around what's available. I've been pleased to find a couple of
dirty south car rap mixes, an
Italian programme offering bitesize chunks of pop from Africa + the African diaspora, and regular postings from a rare soul/funk club night in
Hull. Hopefully you can find something to suit
all most many some tastes.

Justice, the french electro-whatever group (read: Daft Punk)(previously discussed
here) recently had their addition to the prestigious
FabricLive Series rejected for not entirely clear reasons, although the relatively short length (40-something minutes) and taste (or perhaps the lack of) may have been factors. Justice, being the gentlemen they are, decided to give the mix away as a Christmas present to their friends (yes, I'm a little late on this, but not as late as you, presumably), and it is now readily available for anyone to download
here. I'm only familiar with a few of the artists in the mix (Fucking Champs! Goblin!), but it's a pretty good time, and definitely a big, fat middle finger to most of the minimal techno mixes which Fabric usually releases, which is probably why they rejected it in the first place. Lots of old pop, funk and super-cheesy french music (and the FUCKING CHAMPS!), tell me what you guys think!

WaxDJ.com - an excellent source for free downloads and streams of original electronic music mixes of all sorts, from seasoned pros to beginning bedroom amatuers, all told numbering in the hundreds or thousands. My current brand new favorite is the very diverse and well-versed Detriot/Chicago techno stylings of DJ

Thinner/Autoplate is the real deal: a netlabel that doesn't suck. Ambient/dub/minimal house/drone/experimental sounds that'll turn your home into the chillout room of a Finnish club at 5 am. Or at least pleasantly buzz in the background while you read. Sixty-five releases, high-quality bit rates, zipped files, creative commons licence -- the site itself is very nicely done. But more importantly, the music is just freakin' good, for fans of this sort of thing of course.
For a taster, try the excellent
ambient dub mix (125MB) or the more beat-oriented
house standard mix (95MB).
