Citizen PhotoJournalism?

Could any of us really score a photo scoop? Scoopt is an on-line photo agency that purports to help us amateur photographers sell photos to news outlets. You join for free, but they take a 50% cut of the profit. Is it worth that to have an on-call agent? Just in case I happen across a major news event some day? On the other hand, I like being a part of the Creative Commons world of Flickr, where my "artsy" shots are available for further artistic use.

Wow.

The before and after tsunami photos have been synced-up and they highlight even more (if that's possible) the power of the sea. Saomeone has geo-aligned the various before and after aerial and satellite photos and adjusted the scale to provide a very accurate then/now comparison.

I'm Not Sure They REALLY Regret the Errors

Regret The Error is a blog that collects "corrections, retractions, clarifications, and trends regarding accuracy and honesty in North American media." This may well be a NewsFilterFilter, but any site that gives me "In fact, it is impossible to determine the linguistic background of the demonstrator in the monkey suit" is okay in my book.

9/11 As Part of History

The Library of Congress American Memory site is a good place to start in looking back at 9/11. They feature a twin towers poster that I have always liked and a "Stop Hate" graphic that's now my PC wallpaper (at least for the week). There are also multiple links to a wide variety of related content.
