The best even-handed treatment I've seen of the ANWR controversy appeared in the May 13th issue of Sports Illustrated (Sorry, no link to the article, but my summary and other helpful links inside).

I've seen several comments touting the futility of StarWars in light of WTC, however, isn't the flip side of this that drilling in ANWR is an imperative at this point?

I would appreciate it if people would not post exit poll info no matter where they get it from. Please resist the urge.
We'll all find out how it comes out soon enough. Practice patience, Grasshopper. In the mean time, there are good reasons why all the major news organizations have agreed not to do so; it tends to influence the outcome of local elections in the West, which is not desireable. Those reasons apply just as much to this forum.
The fact that you can do something doesn't mean that you should do it.

I'm trying to buy a computer- a newer one. My 'mental health', however, won't seem to let me. Extreme paranoia and crushing guilt. How much is too much to pay for a computer (we're talking PCs here, not Macs)? Well, that depends on how much one earns, right? Let's just say that money is not an issue for me.
Plus, I'm a software engineer. So, I'll be using it for more than porn and MeFi. Why can't I 'click here to check out'?
Tell me I'm not alone...

I seem to recall an online utility that presents a view of what a web site would look like in multiple browsers and on multiple platforms. My searching has turned up empty. Of course I've been known to choose unsuccessful keywords. Specifically, I'm looking for a utility to simulate the appearance of a web page on a Macintosh. Anyone here know of such a tool?

What's a reasonable amount of time, for you, to expect someone to reply to an email?

Submitted for your approval: the recording industry has shot themselves in the head, forcing users to switch from Napster, which at least gave them a mechanism to charge people who wanted to pay, to the decentralized approach of Gnutella, et al, which makes that completely impossible. Opinions?
