The Online Musical started as a 2010 University of Virginia student project to create an interactive online musical based on audience feeback , called Musical: The Online Musical. It continued after that project finished, moving on to mini musicals (Thomas Jefferson: The Musical, Pokemon: The Musical, Where's Waldo?: The Musical), and other musical works (a dub step treatment of Les Miserables). Their most recent project is less musical, more dystopian: The Beanie Baby Hunger Games. [more inside]

Crisis on Infinite Blogs

One response to all the hubbub about DC Comics' unfolding "New 52" re-launch of the DC Universe comics: a pile of independent cartoonists creating cover art for the book launches/relaunches they'd like to see, at DC Fifty-Two. Some of it is straight-faced, some of it is...less so. BIFF! The Justice League as a western! POW! The Geek vs. Hell's Nixons! BLAM! Classical art references!

I've been thinking 'bout... shaking my tailfeather

Hanson's (catchy, if you ask me) video "Thinking 'Bout Something" is an homage to Ray Charles's great performance of "Shake a Tailfeather" in The Blues Brothers. As an added bonus, look closely at the tambourine player; it's our favorite, Weird Al. [more inside]

An awesome way to move things vertically

Hygiene. Flexibility. Safety (SLYT) Another spoof on the Jobs presentation, but with a real company, product and serious effort behind it. It's odd because it's super-real, injokey and the viral ambition is ambiguous. Moneyshot at 7m40s.

As a sidenote, would Apple be able to stomp on this if they wanted to? I mean, this is so tongue in cheek I can't really see the tongue.
