The New England Patriots. Not The Patriot, or a Patriot, Rather the Patriots! Some folks *HATE* them. There's even a game. (About the game.) What about that hunka hunka Tom Brady? You know who he's dating now, don'tcha? Don't forget his baybay with Bridget Moynahan. Are The Patriots going to repeat the unrepeatable and have an undeafeated season like the 1972 Dolphins? Some folks are rooting against it. Advertisers hope so. Meet the players with compelling stories - The Stroke, the retiree, Tom "Super Bowl MVP" Brady and so many more.

Patriot Missiles shooting down our side

US fighter shot down by Patriot missile The Patriot Missiles that are supposed to be the protector of American forces are living up to their reputation. So far, one just shot down an F-18, and previously took out a RAF Tornado, killing two people. Another one locked onto an F-16, but the quick-thinking pilot blew up the Patriot missile battery's radar dish with a HARM missile. These missiles didn't work in the last gulf war, and are continuing to follow that trend. The locking onto allied planes seems to indicate a bug in the IFF routines of the Patriots. Not very patriotic of it.

Yay! The flag burning amendment is dead , at least for another year. What offends me most is: why did 63 Senators vote for this? Second most: do these people actually believe themselves when they preach that people have fought and died for the flag? I *hope* that no soldiers have fought for the flag, per se; I would hope that our military fights for the ideals of which the flag is a nice, abstract representation.
I've put up a short page with links to the official Congressional Record transcripts of the debate, for those who are interested. (It gives me reading for my plane ride tomorrow, if I can avoid the calling of my Sims family.)
