PJ O'Rourke has penned an appreciative essay about architect Antoni Gaudi, designer of buildings such as the bone-like Casa Batlló and the unfinished Gothic cathedral La Sagrada Familia
"If you spend 72 hours in a place you’ve never been, talking to people whose language you don’t speak about social, political, and economic complexities you don’t understand, and you come back as the world’s biggest know-it-all, you’re a reporter." - PJ O'Rourke visits Kabul
P.J. O'Rourke's Finest Moment: National Lampoon.com has just re-released his classic 1979 article, "How to Drive Fast On Drugs While Getting Your Wing-Wang Squeezed and Not Spill Your Drink". This was long before he became the sedate, Republican C.E.O. of the Sofa he is today. Is it still funny today? Or only to us nostalgic boomers who remember the spirit of 79?
Eat the Rich I just re-read this P.J. O'rourke book. I don't agree with all of P.J.'s conclusions, but I HIGHLY recommend you give this book a read if you find yourself thinking along "wealth is theft" lines.
