RunMan: Race Around the World is a donationware PC platformer made of bright colors and public domain folk, blues and jazz. The trailers (final and preview) are made of happiness. The download page is here. (via RPS) The game plays kind of like Sonic the Hedgehog but with two buttons instead of one (charge and jump) and charge is the one you use to kill baddies (and also to bounce off walls!). To get a good score, and also to survive the boss chases, you have to run as fast as you can through a level without stopping. One of the game's developers, Tom Sennett, also made When the bomb goes off, a game where everybody's got one last thing to do before they go. The other developer, Matt Thorson, made some cool games too, like the previously mentioned An Untitled Story (direct download link here). Previously on MeFi there was Archagon's big list of free 2d for the PC. More recently there has been Spelunky, Randy Balma Municipal Abortionist, Journey to the Center of the Earth and a whole bunch I'm probably forgetting.

Somnia is a 3d/2d puzzle platformer by Alex Austin and Aimee Seaver of Cryptic Sea (apologies, only a demo & windows only) Esc key brings up resolution options. The movable light source while mentioned in the instructions does not play a part in the available demo levels (I through VI).

Some more Flash Friday Fun! Edmund McMillen, creator of indie platforming physics-based game darling Gish and "Experimental game" Aether has a new game called Meat Boy, about a chunky block of meat with a face and appendages, he must rescue his girlfriend, Bandaid Girl, from the clutches of the bad guy. To that end, Meat Boy must travel through more than 56 levels spanning four chapters.

An Untitled Story. (apologies, pc download only). An action-platformer by Matt Thorson in the tradition of Seiklus, Knytt (previously 1 2), & Metroid It is full of awesome. Protip: there's some pretty difficult jumping stuff in there, but the most difficult stuff is generally optional so if you get stuck in one area it may be that you need a power up from somewhere else. Bonus link: karoshi2 (also pc download only). Clever puzzler. (I hate the phrase "think outside the box" but it's very literally appropriate to the solution of at least one of the puzzles.)
