Vitaly S Alexius, a Siberian born artist living in Canada, creates some gorgeous digital and traditional art, mostly with a sci-fi or fantasy, vaguely post-apocalyptic theme. He is also a remarkable
photographer.

I asked Nathan Myhrvold, C.E.O. of Intellectual Ventures and widely considered to be one of the smartest people in technology, if he is brilliant. "If you put yourself in that camp, you might be correct," he teased. "But then, you're also an asshole." The Brilliant Issue profiles Porfolio's picks for best game-changers, upstarts, rebels, connectors and other influencers.

Cosh.net is the website of COSH, one of the 'old school kings' of the Dutch graffiti scene. The navigation in Flash isn't the most intuitive, however the 'Skip Intro' gave me a laugh. Make sure to check out the videoclips!

The Perpetual War Fund - First there was the Vice Fund (covered in Mefi
Sept. 3). Now, The Perpetual War Portfolio:
"an evenly weighted basket of five stocks poised to succeed in the age of perpetual war. The stocks were selected on the basis of popular product lines, strong political connections and lobbying efforts, and paid-for access to key Congressional decision makers." Somebody's going to profit from the machineries of death. Why not you?

The Catch with Wells Fargo's Share Builder Some of you may have seen Wells Fargo's ads touting $4 per transaction and unlimited transactions for $12. The main catch is that you cannot trade every day. From their FAQ- "ShareBuilder trades can be made the first, second, third or fourth Tuesday of each month. You select which day you would like your trade to take place when setting up your ShareBuilder Plan. In the event of a month with five Tuesdays, no ShareBuilder trades will take place on the fifth Tuesday."
When the rest of the world is going to real-time trading, why do you think Wells Fargo is pushing this? Do you think it is deceptive that this is not mentioned up-front?

Yeah, I know... another artist, but come on! He kicks ass. I'm not much for Flash or background music, but really, this place is shiny, and all 'new media' like, and it's pretty... and it's umm.... oh! and it's easy to navigate dammit.... and shiny...
