Beginning today at 8pm GMT on Radio 4, <a href="http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio4/reith2002/1.shtml">the first lecture</a> by <a href="http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio4/reith2002/onora.shtml">Prof. Onora O'Neill</a> examines the importance of trust in society and how levels of suspicion are increasing.
