I believe I can fly

R/C cameraman Robert Mcintosh takes you soaring high above Santa Monica, Venice, and San Francisco. Float through the air as you glide along the beach and up through the spokes of the Ferris wheel over the Santa Monica Pier. Then head a mile or two south and get a bird's eye view of Venice's Muscle Beach. When your head has stopped spinning you can take in San Francisco and the Golden Gate Bridge or get away from it all (including the ground) out at at Vasquez Rocks. [more inside]

RC Helicopters Do Amazing Things

Most people consider the remote control helicopter quite intimidating. As a beginner, your first few hovers are pure white-knuckle terror. Thanks to negative pitch, these little helis can fly inverted. And some people can do truly awe-inspiring freestyle routines (this style of flying is called "3D"). Part of the reason they're so intimidating is that nearly every crash is a total writeoff. Keep in mind, these aren't Radio Shack toys; they sometimes kill people [more inside]

Remote Control everything

The first patent for remote control was submitted by Nikola Tesla 1899. Since then its been implemented in all sorts of ways. The most popular method is probably channel surfing made possible by Robert Adler, which you can now do on your wristwatch. Pranksters might be interested in remote flatulence or golf balls while musicians might like a remote ukulele. There's even a whole Yahoo category of devices hooked up to the internet. Someday most trains, planes, and automobiles might have remote control capability. But even as we take our remote vehicles to new worlds we have moved on to include remote insects, rats, and someday genes. In fact, the ultimate wi-fi may connect our brains. But perhaps the invention proposed by Tesla that will most change our world is Wireless Power Transmission.

Remote Driver

Baby you can drive my car. Mini RC cars are all the rage but how often do you get to control a RC car in Tokyo from your browser. Bascule created a web interface for controling an RC car in their office, hooked up a couple of web cams on the track and now allows anyone with the Flash 6 plug-in to log in and drive their car for 60 seconds.

New type of RC plane going for around $100

New type of RC plane going for around $100 They're electric as opposed to gas powered, lighter than their gas powered cousins, and a fraction of the cost. I've always wanted to get into RC planes, but the cost was prohibitive until now.

Remote control jets (Yahoo news)

Remote control jets (Yahoo news) Is this really a good idea? I've heard similar suggestions for our airways - but the article points out that centralizing air traffic has the potential to put entire fleets of jumbo jets in the hands of terrorists.
