Jack "Marvel" Whiteside Parsons was the right hand man to Aleister Crowley, a founder of modern US rocket science, and early partner to L Ron Hubbard. Celebrate July 4th by investigating this major character in the birth of our age. Why a major motion picture has not been made about Jack Parsons is at first, amazing to most. If such a film were made, it would reveal a great deal about the rise to power of L Ron Hubbard, the occult reality of the birth of rocket science and the atom bomb. An attempt to make a film about Parsons has been attempted by David Duchovny and Marilyn Manson (to name 2), but Scientology will not let that happen.

A 15-year-old in London is being prosecuted for holding a sign calling Scientology a "cult", during a peaceful demonstration (0:55-1:40). The teenager refused to back down, quoting a 1984 high court ruling from Mr Justice Latey, in which he described the Church of Scientology as a "cult" ... The City of London police came under fire two years ago when it emerged that more than 20 officers, ranging from constable to chief superintendent, had accepted gifts worth thousands of pounds from the Church of Scientology. The City of London Chief Superintendent, Kevin Hurley, praised Scientology for "raising the spiritual wealth of society" during the opening of its headquarters in 2006. Former 'poster boy for Scientology,' Jason Beghe, OTV, Class V auditor, and seasoned character actor speaks out in a two hour interview about his experience as a celebrity in the CoS. A week ago Mark Bunker, affectionately known as Wise Beard Man to the Anonymous movement, posted a teaser video on YouTube to an interview he conducted with character actor Jason Beghe (Monkey Shines, Thelma & Louise, numerous TV appearances) about his experience . Though he's not a household name, the move was seen as a major win by critics, since so far Jason is the highest-profile ex-scienotologist to come forward as a critic of the organization. The teaser video was seen nearly 600,000 times before the video was abruptly taken down and Bunker's account was supsended by YouTube. YouTube claims Bunker's account was suspended due to two months-old DMCA complaints from Viacom regarding short Colbert Show clips that Bunker had posted on YouTube, and not due to any request by the Church of Scientology (tm). Anonymous' Church of Scientology protest has some and gone

If you have missed knowing about the 'declaration of war' from Anonymous, Jess Lee does a good job of summarizing the story. In short: some people don't like the Church of Scientology and have been waging a virtual war on the Church's various electronic presences. After some of that, someone called for a live action: protesting in front of CoS facilities. It happened this weekend. You could look to traditional media for coverage, but this is an internet internet phenomenon - why not look at one of the over 4,600 Flickr pictures tagged with "Scientology" and "Anonymous" taken between the 8th and the 11th? Or look at one of the YouTube videos of events all over the world, linked by Jess Lee or sift through the two-thousand-plus YouTube videos from the last week. The revolution will be televised? Maybe. But it seems certain the internet-based protests will be streamed. And, sometimes, rickrolled.

"From somewhere around 110,000 trillion trillion years ago" Scientology, a very litigious and secretive group had their website hacked recently and some documents have made it on to the web. The /i/nsurgency haxorz (a splinter group of the famous Anon folks) are claiming responsibility. This is part of an ongoing war of sorts. Also, a helpful Scientology acronym guide of sorts. The Budapest Times seems to be the only news source that backed up the internet msg board chatter that was rampant the other day. I do not know of its journalistic validity.
