Most graduate students are surely aware of the many rigors and regulation of thesis preparation. For example, here is a
FAQ on preparing for the "snake fight" portion of your thesis defense.

Scott Petersen, aka
"reptileman", opens his
Serpentarium to visitors 365 days a year.
Have a look at some of his snakes, lizards, invertebrates,
crocodilians, and turtles,
and
kids
blythely
handling
them.
reptileman recommends that you also visit
Zach's
Lizard Land, where you can meet
Jerky,

Snakes on a Base! In the wake of today's announcement that Raul Castro will be 'temporarily' taking power in Cuba while Big Brother (did I say that?) has an operation for some GI bleeding, The Smoking Gun has published some declassified Spec Ops planning cover sheets from the 60s and 70, listing plans to destabilize Cuba. Operation Bingo, on page 3, is especially amusing.

Melissa Kaplan's

just about green

health,
prey and
feeding, captivity
issues, and
more regarding Cyclura (blue)
iguanas,
chelonians,
amphibians,
crocodilians,
lizards,

Snakes. An animated film based on a woodcut by M.C. Escher. Slow to load, beautiful to watch (and listen to).

Animals thought extinct found in remote Cambodian jungle: British scientists have found a wilderness in the Cardamom region of Cambodia where exotic species, some though to be
extinct, have been found. These include the Siamese
crocodile, the wolf snake (a new species so named because of
its dog-like fangs), large populations of tigers and Asian
elephants, and the gower, a forest cow. Ironically, the habitat was protected from significant human
intrusion because it was a longtime Khmer Rouge stronghold
and also because routes lead to and from it are landmined.

Snake Handling IS dangerous.. One might consider this a near piece of selfpromotion but since I really don't provide any content to this site and just coded and designed it it's not. =) I just think its a funny and interesting article about the wonders of Snake Handling.
