A group of artists calling itself Da! Collective has begun squatting at a six-storey townhouse in Mayfair, estimated to be worth around £6.25 million. And they're inviting others to join them. Under British law, squatters can stay on a claimed property until the owners evict them - something the owners of this property, British Virgin Islands-based Deltaland Resources Ltd., have yet to do. Only 11 years and 11 months until the new home is theirs completely.

Verisign modifies the infrastructure of the net to point back to themselves. Verisign has rigged all .com and .net mistyped domains to reroute to their branded search page. This makes them effectively the biggest cybersquatter on the net, and will make it impossible for most spam filters at the network level to operate as well as seriously complicating the lives of network administrators everywhere.

Today I was once again reminded why I hate domain squatters so much. I wanted to find the website for Scream 3, but scream3.com is some half-assed hacked site. Every domain with "scream3" in it seems to be taken (some by Miramax), but none of them resolve to a movie site. The only one that looks halfway official is in french. Here it is, opening weekend, and there doesn't seem to be an official site up that I can use.
