In September 1964, Jonny Quest began what was to be its only broadcast season on ABC with this rousing opening sequence (audio disabled). That sequence has now been recreated -- cut for cut, with the original music -- in high-definition stop-motion animation. [more inside]

Norman McLaren's 1952 short film [Youtube version] Neighbours uses live actors in a stop-motion film, to great effect.
McLaren created the soundtrack by scratching the edge of the film, which was then read by the projector.

The very angry caterpillar is a film made by the previously discussed Lichtfaktor for UK children's television programme Blue Peter. It stitches together light paintings using stop-motion (frame-by-frame) techniques.
