Metronomy (rhymes with economy) is a musical group fronted by the Brit Joseph Mount, who hails from the town of Totnes, in the county of Devon. The names behind Metronomy have changed over the course of three albums and a slew of EPs and singles, but throughout Mount has been at the center. You can stream the three albums, plus two EPs and a few more singles. Most of the old films and cartoons are in public domain: "when a work's copyright or patent restrictions expire, it enters the public domain and may be used by anyone for any purpose." The newer media is probably not in public domain, they are just freely available for some unknown reason. Tomorrow they could be gone.

Free live European football streams. A Chinese website streaming all of the top European football that you can throw a stick at. Good quality realtime streams augmented by excitable Chinese commentators. Not sure of the legality of the enterprise but is worth a look all the same. If you are addicted to UEFA Champions League, or want to know how Roman Abramovich's Chelski are getting on then here is the place.

WeFunkRadio.com has 390 full shows available for download featuring the funk, underground hip-hop, and rare grooves that are so hard to find. BitTorrents are available for the two most recent shows and there's always the audio stream and podcasts coming at you fresh from Montréal's CKUT radio.

From the Top is a weekly radio show broadcast throughout the USA. It originates from Boston's New England Conservatory, but travels all over showcasing young classical musicians. The show can be heard (RealAudio) from the website, and there is an extensive library as well an archive of past shows (photos too)... the kids are very talented, and the show's hosts are great at bringing out their personalities.

It seems Metallica has some high class company. The Cleveland Orchestra has halted distribution of their concerts to about 250 U.S. radio stations because of concerns about streaming audio. The orchestra's contract with its musicians covers radio broadcasting rights of live performances, but not Internet streaming, said Gary Hanson, the orchestra's associate executive director. Does this strike anyone else as strange?
