Although the idea has some <a href="http://www.darkroastedblend.com/2007/08/flying-submarines.html">pedigree</a>, and there was actually a flying, diving prototype called the <a href="http://www.aerofiles.com/Reid-RFS.jpg">Reid Flying Submarine RFS-1</a> back in the sixties, one must wonder whether it is really of any use.
