The Binding of Isaac is a roguelike (or possibly a roguelike-like) that pits a naked crying boy whose only initial weapon is his tears, but can be upgraded with loads of self-mutilating items, against random rooms of disturbingly mutated creatures (may be nsfw) in a quest to kill his mother before she kills him. Almost Insideout Ninja

A postmortem at gamasutra on the independently developed game Super Meat Boy. On their design philosophy that in part makes the game so popular: "It was vital for us to bring back the difficulty of the retro age, but also reinvent the idea of what difficulty meant. Frustration was the biggest part of retro difficulty and something we felt needed to be removed at all costs, in order to give the player a sense of accomplishment without discouraging them to the point of quitting. At its core, this idea was quite basic: Remove lives, reduce respawn time, keep the levels short and keep the goal always in sight. On top of these refinements, we added constant positive feedback, and even death became something to enjoy when you knew that upon completing the level you would be rewarded with an epic showing of all your past deaths. The replay feature was a way to remind the player that they were getting better through their own actions and reinforce that feeling of accomplishment of doing something difficult and succeeding."

The Power Of Killer Tofu

Back when Super Meat Boy first came out, PETA made a parody game called Super Tofu Boy, which sort of sucked hard. Really hard. But the developers were amused, and so they put a secret into the game, letting you play as Tofu Boy himself! Unfortunately, the anemic little man could only jump half as high as the titular character and was unable to run, making it seem absolutely impossible to use him in any capacity. He can't even complete the very first level of the game.

And so, he was shelved as a joke character, and everyone forgot about him.

Or not.

{OTD}q has just released a video showing almost every possible level possible to beat with Tofu Boy and set it to a killer soundtrack, pairing the popular fansong/remix "The Power of Meat" with a lovely mix of everyone's favorite band.
