Best. Baby. Site. Ever. A huge reason: Trixie is cute. Other reasons: TPOD and the telemetry, oh the telemetry! The charts are amazingly thorough, and funny. Definitely part of what makes this site such a delight is Trixie's dad, whose entries are witty and thoughtful. As a new dad myself, with my own baby page, I'm impressed, but I imagine this'll be good readin' for all, parents or no.

Back seat driver? Next time you get to drive a Williams F1 BMW around Indianapolis, you will want to know how to do it right. Thanks to the onboard telemetry spy system you can see how Ralf Schumacher tachs to 19000 rpm as he shifts up to 4th and reaches 333 kph on the straightaway, as recorded on the telemetry display (SWF). Compare with other tracks.

Can't get to the track? Drive your phone.

Swan song for a great explorer. Tomorow, the Galileo explorer will make a flyby of Jovian moon Amalthea ending pehaps the geatest unmanned mission in NASA history. Galileo telemetry may not survive the flyby having already receieved much more radiation than it was designed for. Even if it does survive, this will be its final orbit scheduled to crash into Jupiter in September of next year. In spite of antenna difficulties, the spacecraft returned many beautiful images of Jupiter's moons, along with coverage of the Shoemaker-Levy collision and the first atmospheric probe to decend into Jupiter's weather.
