Trick or treat, smell my feet, give me candy to trade for cash

Halloween is not good for the teeth of trick-or-treaters. There's a plethora of candy, and kids will eat candy they wouldn't normally eat, because hey, it's there. What's a parent to do? Offer cash for candy, with the help of a local dentist. Halloween Candy Buyback, complete with zip-code dentist search, the website for the movement that has expanded from it's quiet start in 2005 with a single dentist in Wisconsin. Now, thousands of dentists across the U.S. buy back tons of candy at a dollar a pound, then send the candy with toothbrushes and toothpaste to Operation Gratitude to be added into care packages for active U.S. Military. If you're having trouble getting a younger child to part with their candy, there's the Switch Witch, who will take a pile of candy and switch it for a special switch gift. And if you want to start at the source, you can always make your own candy with one of the various sugar substitutes, or go with a teal pumpkin and avoid the candy all-together.

Gained in Translation?

Adam & Eve recorded live during a radio performance. Of course, all singer/songwriters have a first song, and a latest offering. In the not-quite-eighteen months that have passed between her first and latest posts, seventeen-year-old One Trick Pony has offered her unique musings on cannibalism, an American ex-president, infanticide?, human beings, and original sin (original version). She has also written over 20 other songs, received third place in a national youth talent competition, and begun getting some press. There are free downloads of some of her songs on last.fm. Blog in English. [more inside]

It takes about a half a day to get there...

Spanish Castle Magic. Stare at the dot in the center of the image for 30 seconds, then mouseover the picture. Don't shift your glance, because until you do the picture will appear to be in color, despite the fact that it's in black & white.

This explains so much.

Truly mind blowing! First, you must follow the rules. Watch this short video. You are only allowed to watch it once. Seriously, do not cheat! In the video you will see a group of basketball players, some in white and some in black passing two balls around. Your goal is to count how many times the ball is passed by those wearing white shirts. It’s that simple. Remember, count just the passes of the ball by those wearing white. Once the movie is over, write down the number of passes you have counted, Do not watch the video again-- proceed to step two. (via)

Copperfield's Card Trick

Copperfield's Card Trick
Pick a card without clicking it or selecting it and the image of David Copperfield will remove that card from the six cards.

How does this work? I've tried it four or five times and it gets it right everytime.
